Scout Announces Zone Picking module for topShelf 2.0 - April 15th, 2008

Today, Scout, Inc. announced it has released its zone picking module for topshelf 2.0. The zone picking module works in conjunction with the wave picking module to allow warehouse and inventory users to divide sales order picking tasks amongst multiple pickers who are assigned a zone or area of the warehouse. In addition, the zone picking module allows warehouse management administrators to direct pick routines and the type of pick bin needed for fulfillment of an order. “The zone picking module creates tremendous labor savings for medium and large high volume warehouses because it allows companies to define fulfillment functions that direct their picking staff through the most efficient paths within the warehouse.” says Brian Tremblay, Senior Program Developer. Additionally Scout has released a further enhancement to the wave picking and zone picking modules to support picking to totes. Picking to totes allows the picker to efficiently presort orders in preparation for packing and shipping, thus further reducing labor costs. Scout’s zone picking module and tote enhancement option are available immediately.
